From Glory to Glory…

A while back I lived in Atlanta Georgia, where I went to school in pursuit of my nursing degree. I was studying for my associate degree in nursing (RN). Upon completion of my core classes, I applied for acceptance into the nursing program. In order for me to be accepted, I had to pass an entrance examination. I was an A student, I took the test and was assured of passing.

To my surprise, I failed the examination and was not accepted into the RN program. My husband at the time said that I should downgrade my degree to a licensed vocational nurse (LVN). That was very discouraging for me. As always, I went to God in prayer to seek His direction. The scripture that came to me was in …

2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)

“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

I heard in my spirit, ‘Glory to glory’. I said to my husband that I will not downgrade instead I will upgrade. The non-acceptance into the associates RN program is a sign that I was aiming too low. My God wants to take me to the bachelor RN program.

I rose up from my disappointment and applied to a state university from a community college. I upgraded, here I had to take the entrance into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) examination & if I passed, I had to go through a panel interview. Many people failed the panel interview even after they passed the test and others didn’t even make it to the panel.

Someone told me that I had a low to nil chance of acceptance because I took all my other classes in another school. The university prioritized those who took their core classes in their school.

Needless to say, all odds were against me but I passed all their requirements. With a full-ride scholarship, I graduated with my bachelor degree and rose higher than my thoughts could take me, and even higher than my husband’s thoughts were over me. I tapped into God’s thoughts over my life through God the Holy Spirit and I rose up into the glory the Father had for me. With God’s leadership, we always go from glory to glory.

Where are you? Which glory are you in? Are you downgrading or upgrading? Do you rely on your own understanding, other people’s understanding, or God’s understanding? God only promises us to go from glory to glory only by His Spirit. Do you know the Holy Spirit? Do you consult Him on the thoughts of the Father towards you? Do you acknowledge Him in all your ways?

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

Evaluate your glory to see if you are progressing, stagnating, or excelling. Are you led of the Holy Spirit? Or are you self or people led? You may need to change leadership and yield to God the Father through God the Son by His Spirit in order to progress in His glory.

May God help us to make the appropriate adjustments for His glory.
