Seeking

What does it mean to love God? What does it mean to seek Him? Many people think that loving God is tasking… doing things for Him. But God has a love language. What does love look like to Him? It is constant obedience to Him, because of reverent fear.

When you look back at your life, and look at where you are now, kindly evaluate your love for Him. Do you love Him like He wants to be loved?

Most people seek God’s hand, i.e., gifts & provision; some seek His face, that is, His presence, while deeper, but very few people seek His heart. Which one are you?

Remember, what God showed Moses and what he showed the Israelites was different. Moses asked to go deeper, to know God’s ways, and even asked to see God. He sought God’s face literally. The Israelites, on the other hand, wanted Moses to seek God for them and then be the middleman. They got what they asked for but it cost them the promised land.

Spiritual laziness & lack of hunger for God lead many people astray even today. including leading them to false prophets and to the wrong churches out of desperation.

Psalm 103:7 (NLT)
“He revealed his character to Moses
and his deeds to the people of Israel.”

Why did God make this distinction? Because whatever you seek you will find. The Israelites sought and settled for signs & wonders. They wanted what the King could do for the…  instead of what they could do for the King.

What are you seeking?
